Professional experience and areas of expertise

He has completed his academic training as a Medical Doctor in Guatemala through a FINABECE-SEGEPLAN scholarship and his Master's degree in Mexico with a CONACYT scholarship. He has worked on projects related to the design and evaluation of programs, economic evaluations of interventions and feasibility analysis in health financing in Mexico, related to the control of chronic diseases. He is currently working on the implementation of a multi-component intervention to improve blood pressure levels in hypertensive patients from rural communities in Guatemala. He is a member of the Mexican Society of Public Health and the American Public Health Association.
